Memorial website in the memory of your loved one

God truly blessed this world with Richie Febbi. The impact he left on so many lives, in such a short time, is amazing. While we mourn the loss of such a beautiful person who touched all of our lives, I ask you to celebrate Richie's life...for he deserves no less, and would expect no less.

A True American
FOREVER YOUNG...FOREVER A HERO
This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, Richard Febbi who was born in New Jersey on October 26, 1979 and passed away on July 01, 2005 at the ever so young age of 25. He was an  amazing friend, brother, son, and soldier.  We will miss him & remember him forever. Our broken hearts cannot be mended.

Richie's Memory Shines On Forever-From Coast to Coast
(on the East Coast)
Shortly after Richie's death, his family created the Sgt. Richard Febbi Memorial Fund in order to keep Richie's energetic spirit alive as well as provide people in the service, and the community help where it is ever so needed.  The fund has already provided plane tickets for soldiers to come home to their family's when they wouldn't have been able to afford it, the security deposit for a soldier who returned from Iraq & was living in a shelter, many care packages that have been sent to the troops, and so much more.  Along with the "For the Love of Brad' fund, so much has already been done to help others in the memory of Brad Depascale & Richie Febbi.  These funds will continue to make their mark in this world, the same as these two wonderful boys did.

(On the West Coast)

This is Richies mobile work shop. It was initially set up to build homes with Habitat for Humanity and is now used by Rich's father in his volunteer work for Homes For Our Troops ( www.honesforourtroops.org ) They build homes for severely wounded troops returning from the war. They do this all over the country. Once the home is built they GIVE the home to that veteran at no cost to him. Richie's father, Matt Febbi, is the Volunteer Construction Manager for this project and has built many homes. All the work and tools are supplied by him in Richies Name.
After building a home in Whorton NJ a fad was started. Every home that Matt has worked on now has the initials ( SGT. R.M.F.) carved in concrete in there garage along with a Penguin.  Richie's memory lives on all over the country, and in his honor so many have been helped.
It is truley remarkable. Rich is definately smiling down from heaven.

As time grows longer...our pain grows stronger
Oh Lord please give us strength.

To our men & women in uniform...past, present, and future...God Bless You, and Thank You.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free. I'm following the path God laid for me
I took His hand when I heard Him call
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day, to laugh,
to love, to work or play.
Tasks undone must stay that way
I've found that peace at the close of the day.
If parting has left a void, then fill it
with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah, yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish for you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times,
a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now, He set me free.

His legacy
RICH'S ACHIEVEMENTS

Richie grew up in Butler, NJ where he graduated from Butler High School. He played football for the town for over 8 years and was a constant center of attention. Since he was a young boy he wanted to serve his country just as his father did. On his 18th birthday he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Following boot camp, he was assigned to the Marine Expeditionary Force, 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, and graduated from the prestigious Marine Corps Sniper School.
Rich served in the Marine Corps for four years in Japan, Australia, and Hawaii. He also fought the War on Terrorism in the Philippines. After a short break of service, when he became a Butler Fire Fighter, Rich joined the U.S. Army to become a Calvary Scout. He was assigned as a Scout Section Leader for the 1st Battalion, 72nd Armed Regimen, located at Camp Casey, Korea. Following his deployment to Korea, Sgt. Febbi was assigned to Ft. Lewis, Washington, Outlaw Troop, 4th Squadron, 2nd Calvary Regiment.
It was on the dreaded day of July 1st 2005, in Tacoma Washington, that God decided he needed Richie to lead his Army in Heaven. Rich truly loved his country and accomplished more by the age of 25 then most people accomplish in a lifetime. The impact that he had on the people who knew and loved him leaves the greatest sadness in our hearts… yet we can smile when we think of how lucky we truly are to have had such an extraordinary person in our life. Rich could walk into a room full of people who are crying, and leave the room with everyone laughing their asses off. He was a one of a kind, and to truly know him is to love him. While the pain of losing him makes our hearts ache, to know that we will one day be reunited gives us hope. Richies memory, accomplishments, and dedication to his country will shine on forever. We miss you Rich.
